Who is RootRez

Who is RootRez?

RootRez is a Park City, Utah based software company that provides white-label booking engines. Founded in 2009, the company was built on the ideology of creating technology that was by hoteliers for hoteliers. We power the booking engine for popular brands in a variety of industries, such as Destination Marketing Organizations, world-class events, ski & summer resorts, and more. Brands choose to either license our software and create their booking engine or employ us to manage and build all aspects of their lodging platform. In other words, we're the wizard behind the curtain for many white-label booking engines. 

Why list with us?

Our software powers the booking engines for a variety of well-known brands and high-traffic websites. Listing with us gets your hotel more visibility and more bookings at a low cost to you. Getting Onboarded and Building Connectivity

How do I start?

Fill out our support form and one of our market managers will be in touch shortly to let you know more, walk you through a contract, and teach you our system. To prepare, find out which connectivity option works best for you and which of our partners you'd like to list with. 

What type of lodging suppliers do you work with?

We can feature any property size and type, including large metro city Hotels, Vacation Rentals, condo-hotels, and small Bed & Breakfasts. 

What technologies do you connect to?

Currently, we offer a direct connection for inventory and rates using Instant Software by HomeAway (ISI Link), Sabre GDS, TravelClick/iHotelier, Inntopia, DerbySoft, SiteMinder and Expedia Affiliate Network. If your system does not connect through one of these software programs, you can also load rates, inventory/room blocks into the RootRez CRS as a manual extranet.

Receiving Reservations

What will a customer reservation look like?

If you are connected to one of our two-way connectivity providers, the reservation will send directly through to your local system.  

You will be alerted via email every time a reservation is made. Then, you can log into your property dashboard to see all of the details pertaining to your reservations.

If you have rates loaded within the CRS, you can access the customer information and confirm the reservation after receiving the email prompt. 

Will I have access to the customer information?

Yes. You will have access to the customer’s reservation information including their name, address, email, and credit card number, depending on your inventory source. As the hotel, your credentials are the only ones with access to the customer’s credit card information. You will run the customer’s credit card as it aligns with your hotel policy. Any two-way integration will automatically feed information into your pre-existing system and look like a standard reservation.

Rates and Promotions

Where are rates and availability being pulled from?

Rates are automatically pulled from your inventory source. We offer connectivity to HomeAway (ISI Link), Sabre GDS, TravelClick/iHotelier, Inntopia, Derbysoft, SiteMinder, and the Expedia Affiliate Network. Secondarily, you can choose to add manual room blocks for specific events or promotions using our Central Reservation Software (CRS).

What types of promotions do you offer?

There are three different types of promotions within the CRS: discounts, passcodes, and value-adds. Discounts provides a way to offer a specific percentage or dollar amount off your rooms to all guests, which highlights your property on the lodging website, passcodes are a way to offer specific savings to future guests who have a unique code, and value-adds lets guests choose from physical add-ons such as t-shirts, hats, gift cards, and more. 

How do I set up a promotion?

If you are connected via the CRS, TravelClick, or ISI, you can manage any discounts, such as free room nights, percentages off, or a specific dollar amount off, through the “promotions” tab within the CRS. Depending on your live two-way connectivity, discounts may be automatically pulled in or you can manually manage inventory with promotions via the RootRez CRS. Both value-adds and promo codes will need to be created through your publisher. Fill out our support request to get help setting up your promotions. 

Custom Content

How do I edit the information on our hotel page?

You are in control of most of the content on your hotel page, except the “Why We Like It” and “What You Need to Know” sections. To manage your hotel’s information, photos, amenities, and policies, click the “Property Description” tab in the CRS.

What size should my photos be?

Gallery photos should be horizontal photos sizing 1000 px x 758 px. Your featured “hero” photo (which appears at the top of your hotel’s page) should be 1600 px x 572 px, or a 2.8:1 ratio.

Can I edit the “what we like” and “what you need to know” sections?

These two sections are custom content created by our partners. However, if you would like to update any information, you can contact our team to change the information.

Payment and Billing

How much does it cost to list with you?

The cost to list on our publisher’s sites depends on the publisher and is completely based on productivity. You will be charged a percentage of the room revenue ranging from 0 to 20%. Contact our team to learn the exact amount per publisher.

How do I get paid?

As a hotelier, you will receive the customer’s credit card information and can charge them as it aligns with your policies. If you have received bookings through our partner’s website, you will receive an invoice once a month for the commission of the booking.

What if I believe the invoice is incorrect?

After receiving your invoice, there is a 10-day reconciliation period where you can correct any cancellations or changes in payment within the CRS. On the 11th of each month, you will be sent your final invoice accounting for your reconciliations.
